Maryland packs rowhouses, Chesapeake waterfront properties and Washington-commuter suburbs into a small state, and each of those puts a different demand on a cleaning crew. The price does not move between them: a standard visit runs $120-$430 by size, with deep cleans and move-out work above it. What changes is how long the job takes and how often you need it, and in a state with a $15 wage floor and a 45-day deposit rule, both of those are worth planning.
House cleaning prices in Maryland in 2026
These are our published flat rates per visit. Hello Cleaners prices nationally rather than by state or city, so the table below is what a Maryland household pays wherever they live, and the spread inside each cell reflects bathrooms, condition and access rather than ZIP code.
| Home size | Standard clean | Deep clean | Move-out clean |
|---|---|---|---|
| Studio | $120-$170 | $160-$220 | $190-$260 |
| 1 bedroom | $140-$200 | $180-$260 | $210-$320 |
| 2 bedrooms | $170-$255 | $220-$330 | $260-$380 |
| 3 bedrooms | $220-$330 | $280-$420 | $320-$480 |
| 4+ bedrooms | $275-$430 | $350-$550 | $400-$600 |
Recurring visits reduce the per-visit price: weekly and bi-weekly schedules are discounted against the one-off rate because the home never returns to a full-scrub state between visits. Add-ons such as inside-oven, inside-fridge and interior windows are priced separately and are the most common reason a first quote sits above what someone expected.
Chesapeake humidity, pollen and the Maryland cleaning calendar
Maryland's humid subtropical summers are the defining cleaning problem here. Bay-adjacent homes in Anne Arundel, Dorchester and the Eastern Shore hold moisture in bathrooms and basements for weeks at a time, and mildew on grout and window frames is the single most common thing our teams treat between June and September. Spring is a heavy pollen season across the Piedmont, which coats sills, porches and interior surfaces near open windows. Winters are mild but wet, so the problem in January is tracked-in grit and salt on rowhouse hardwood rather than deep freeze. A practical Maryland rhythm is a deep clean in late spring after pollen drops, bi-weekly maintenance through the humid months, and extra attention to exhaust fans and grout all summer.
How the big Maryland markets compare
Our rate card is national, so a Bethesda 3-bedroom and a Cumberland 3-bedroom carry the same quote. Maryland metros differ in housing type and scheduling pressure instead.
| Market | What is different about the work |
|---|---|
| Baltimore city and county | Rowhouse stock with narrow stairs, original woodwork and basements; the job is vertical rather than wide, and stair risers plus radiators add time a square-footage estimate misses. |
| Washington suburbs (Montgomery and Prince George's) | The busiest slots in the state. Larger newer homes, high recurring demand, and a lot of weekday morning requests, so book bi-weekly slots ahead rather than ad hoc. |
| Annapolis and the Eastern Shore | Waterfront and second-home properties with seasonal turnover; more one-off deep cleans and rental-turnover work than steady weekly visits. |
What affects your price in Maryland
Two Maryland homes of the same size can sit at opposite ends of the same price band. These are the things that decide it.
- Rowhouse layouts: three or four floors of stairs take longer than one floor of the same total area.
- Summer mildew on grout, silicone and window frames, which needs dwell time rather than scrubbing.
- Basement finish level, common across Baltimore and the Washington suburbs.
- Number of full bathrooms, which is the strongest single driver in any quote.
- Waterfront properties, where salt air and screened porches add an exterior-adjacent pass.
Minimum wage and what it does to Maryland cleaning rates
Maryland's minimum wage is $15.00 an hour statewide, with Montgomery County set higher again for larger employers. That is one of the highest floors among the states we serve, and it is visible in the local independent market: hourly cleaning rates around Bethesda and Silver Spring sit near the top of the national spread. Our own pricing does not track that, because it is national and flat. The practical Maryland effect is on comparison shopping rather than on your bill with us: a quote that undercuts the local hourly market badly is usually cash-paid, uninsured work, and if something is broken in your home there is nothing behind it.
Deposits and move-out cleaning in Maryland
A Maryland landlord must return the deposit with accrued interest within 45 days of the end of the tenancy, and must send a written list of damages with an itemized statement of costs inside the same 45 days. Deposits are also capped at two months' rent. That deadline is set by Maryland Real Property 8-203, and it is worth knowing before you decide how much to spend on a move-out clean: a documented professional clean with dated photographs is the cheapest available answer to an itemized deduction. Our room-by-room move-out cleaning checklist covers what an inspector actually opens.
Work out your own number
The calculator on this page prices your exact home: size, bathrooms, service type, frequency and add-ons, with the arithmetic shown rather than hidden. Use it for a realistic band, then request a quote to have it confirmed against your address and access.
