Appliance Cleaning Cost: Oven, Fridge, Dishwasher, Hood and Washer
Added to a house cleaning, most appliances cost $20 to $80 each to clean inside. Range hoods and heavily soiled ovens cost more. Here is what drives the price and what our own jobs show.
- Angi puts interior appliance cleaning at $20 to $80 per appliance when it is added to a house cleaning, and HomeGuide lists oven cleaning at $15 to $35 and inside-fridge cleaning at $12 to $50.
- Range hoods are priced differently: Angi lists $200 to $400 for a single standard residential hood cleaned by hand, and $30 to $100 per filter for filter deep cleaning or replacement.
- Across 814 jobs we completed in 2026 that included appliance cleaning items, the median whole-job total was $587, but that figure includes the rest of the house cleaning.
- Condition matters more than appliance type: carbonized ovens, double ovens, spoiled-food fridges and greasy hoods take longer and cost more.
- Appliance cleaning is usually cheapest as an add-on to a deep, move-out or move-in clean rather than as a standalone visit.
- Ask for every appliance to be listed on the quote, inside and out, so you know exactly what is covered.
Professional appliance cleaning cost is usually $20 to $80 per appliance when it is added to a house cleaning, according to Angi. Range hoods with greasy filters, double ovens and fridges with spoiled food cost more, and a standalone appliance-only visit costs more per item than adding the same work to a deep or move-out clean.
Below are the published per-appliance ranges, what our own 2026 jobs cost, and what pushes a quote up or down.
Per-appliance prices at a glance
Industry price guides list appliance cleaning as an add-on to a house cleaning. These ranges are national figures, and local prices vary.
| Appliance | Typical published price | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Oven interior | $15 to $35 add-on; $20 to $80 per appliance interior | HomeGuide; Angi |
| Refrigerator and freezer interior | $12 to $50 add-on; $20 to $80 per appliance interior | HomeGuide; Angi |
| Dishwasher | Not priced separately in either guide | Ask for it to be itemized |
| Range hood, single standard hood, hand-cleaned | $200 to $400 | Angi |
| Range hood, island or custom, steam-cleaned | $350 to $700 | Angi |
| Hood filter deep clean or replacement | $30 to $100 per filter | Angi |
| Washing machine | Not priced separately in either guide | Ask for it to be itemized |
Two notes on the table. The Angi range hood figures come from its kitchen hood cleaning guide and cover a full hood cleaning, not a quick wipe of the canopy. And neither guide publishes a separate dishwasher or washer price, so we have not invented one. In practice, cleaners quote these as part of the per-appliance add-on or by time.
What our own jobs show
Hello Cleaners completed 1,256 jobs between January 12 and October 17, 2026. Of those, 814 included appliance cleaning line items. Across those 814 jobs, the median total was $587, with half falling between $417 and $814.
Read that number carefully. It is a whole-job total, not the price of cleaning appliances. A job counts here if it contained any appliance item, and most were full cleanings: 728 of the 814 also included kitchen cleaning and 726 included bathrooms. Many were move-out cleanings, where appliances are one of the most common extras. In 643 of these jobs the customer added the option for appliances cleaned inside and out, and 67 jobs added an inside-oven clean.
| Home size | Jobs | Median whole-job total | Low | High |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Studio | 18 | $298 | $146 | $2,684 |
| 1 bedroom | 120 | $437 | $176 | $5,695 |
| 2 bedrooms | 130 | $524 | $275 | $2,000 |
| 3 bedrooms | 249 | $652 | $368 | $5,541 |
| 4 bedrooms | 140 | $792 | $372 | $2,683 |
| 5+ bedrooms | 45 | $1,107 | $572 | $1,795 |
The very high figures at the top of some ranges are outliers, such as homes in poor condition or jobs bundled with several other services. The medians are the more useful guide to a typical full cleaning with appliances included.
What drives the price
- Condition. A lightly used oven takes a fraction of the time of one with years of carbonized grease. Condition is the single biggest variable.
- Size and configuration. Double ovens, French-door and side-by-side fridges, and built-in units have more surfaces, more drawers and more seals.
- Spoiled food. A fridge that has been off with food inside needs sanitizing and odor work, not just a wipe-down.
- Range hood type. Island and custom hoods, and greasy baffle filters, take more time than a standard under-cabinet hood.
- Bundling. Added to a full cleaning, an appliance is priced as an add-on. On its own, it may carry a visit minimum.
- Location. Labor costs vary widely between metro areas.
Of these, condition is the one you can influence. An oven cleaned once or twice a year never reaches the carbonized stage that takes a professional an hour or more to undo, and a fridge wiped weekly rarely needs more than a quick interior clean. If your appliances are in decent shape, say so when you ask for a quote; if they are not, photos help the company price the job honestly rather than padding it for the unknown.
Timing matters too. Booking appliances into the same visit as a move-out or deep clean means the kitchen is finished in one pass, the team is not waiting on anything, and you avoid paying a second visit minimum for a few hours of work.
What is included for each appliance
Oven
Racks removed and scrubbed, cavity degreased with products suited to the finish, door glass and frame, knobs, control panel, storage drawer and exterior. A good cleaner will not scrub the door gasket or combine chemical cleaner with a self-clean cycle. Our guide to self-cleaning ovens vs professional cleaning explains why.
Refrigerator and freezer
Emptying or working around food, removing and washing shelves and drawers, wiping the interior and door bins, cleaning gasket folds and wiping the exterior and handles. Coil cleaning and drain flushing may be extra.
Dishwasher
Filter removed and rinsed, spray arms checked for blocked holes, door edges and gasket wiped, interior and exterior cleaned, and the control panel wiped.
Range hood
Exterior degreased, filters soaked or replaced, and the light cover wiped. Duct cleaning is a different, specialist service.
Washing machine
Door seal or lid area cleaned, detergent drawer removed and washed, drum wiped and the exterior cleaned. Front-loader door seals are a common source of musty smells.
Extras that change the quote
Some appliance tasks sit outside a standard per-appliance price. Ask about them up front so the final bill matches the quote:
- Pulling out the fridge or range to clean behind and underneath. Many cleaners will not move built-in units or appliances with water or gas lines, for good reason.
- Cleaning the refrigerator's condenser coil and flushing the defrost drain.
- Second ovens, warming drawers, wine and beverage fridges, and chest freezers.
- Microwave interiors, especially over-the-range models with greasy filters.
- Range hood filters that need a long soak or replacement.
- Dryer lint areas and the space behind the laundry machines.
None of these is unusual, but each takes time. A clear list on the quote avoids the awkward conversation on the day.
Is professional appliance cleaning worth it?
For routine upkeep, often not. Wiping fridge spills the day they happen, running a dishwasher maintenance cycle and cleaning the oven before grease bakes on will keep most kitchens in good shape for the cost of a few products.
The calculation changes in three situations. The first is when grime has built up for years, because carbonized ovens and greasy hoods take hours of careful work and the right products for each finish. The second is a move, when appliances are one of the first things a landlord or buyer checks and a deduction can easily cost more than the cleaning. The third is time: a professional team can do the oven, fridge, dishwasher and microwave in the same visit as the rest of the house, while you deal with everything else.
Add-on or standalone visit?
If you are already booking a deep cleaning, move-out or move-in clean, add the appliances. The team, travel and setup are already covered, so each appliance costs only the extra time. A standalone appliance visit makes sense when the rest of the home is in good shape and only the kitchen needs attention, but expect a minimum charge.
For a move-out, appliances matter more than their price suggests. Landlords and inspectors routinely open the oven and fridge, and a few dollars per appliance is cheap insurance against a cleaning deduction.
How to get an accurate quote
- List every appliance, including second ovens, wine fridges, microwaves and laundry machines.
- Say whether you want the inside, the outside or both.
- Describe the condition honestly, or send photos of the oven interior and the fridge.
- Mention spoiled food, pet hair in the laundry room or a greasy hood up front.
- Ask for the appliances to appear as separate lines on the quote.
When to hand it to a pro
A lightly used fridge and dishwasher are reasonable weekend jobs. Bring in a professional for a carbonized oven, a fridge that has been off with food inside, a greasy range hood or a move-out where you need every appliance inspection-ready on the same day.
Hello Cleaners prices appliance cleaning per appliance, confirms the full price before you book, and backs the work with a 36-hour re-clean promise. Check current rates on our prices page or get a free quote.
Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to have an oven professionally cleaned?
As an add-on to a house cleaning, HomeGuide lists oven cleaning at $15 to $35 and Angi puts interior appliance cleaning at $20 to $80 per appliance. Heavily carbonized or double ovens cost more.
How much does refrigerator cleaning cost?
HomeGuide lists inside-fridge cleaning at $12 to $50 as an add-on. A fridge with spoiled food, a full freezer or a built-in ice maker sits at the top of that range or above it.
Is range hood cleaning included in appliance cleaning?
Wiping the hood exterior and degreasing the filters is often included or a small add-on. A full residential hood and duct cleaning is a separate service that Angi prices at $200 to $400 for a standard hood.
Why is your median job total so much higher than per-appliance prices?
Our $587 median is a whole-job total. It counts every job that included appliance items, and most of those were full deep, move-out or move-in cleanings with appliances added.
Is it cheaper to bundle appliance cleaning with a house cleaning?
Usually, yes. The team, travel and setup are already paid for, so each appliance is priced as an add-on rather than a minimum-charge visit.
